Sponsor a Dog
Some of the dogs in our care will probably never be adopted. Maybe they're too shy around people, or too energetic. Maybe they have a medical condition that requires ongoing treatment. Some of our new arrivals require urgent veterinary care and long rehabilitation before they can even be considered adoptable. Become a sponsor and you can help make sure these dogs get the care and attention they need. Click here to sponsor a dog with a monthly donation from your credit card. Shenandoah was discovered in a crowded shelter, running in circles and crashing into walls, apparently suffering post-distemper nerve damage. The "sensible" choice might have been euthanasia, but who's sensible in the presence of an angel? She has spent time with Dr. Hinko, Dr. Audrey Sill, and Laura Moore. What these three healers have in common is the belief that Shenandoah has a superb chance of regaining at least most of her balance and coordination. In every other way, this gorgeous Siberian Husky is pure puppy: happy, curious, interactive, and loving. Maybe one day she'll be well enough to move into a family of her own! Otherwise, just TRY to pry her from Robert's arms! Sponsor Shenandoah |

Abuela was found wandering the streets of Santa Fe. This skinny grandmother is at least 10 years old, a little worn from lack of care, but still plenty pretty! She's receiving healthy food and loads of supplements to address her muscle weakness and apparent arthritis. We think Abuela deserves early retirement here on the mesa, so we won't pester her with Adoption Days. Sponsor Abuela |

This Christmas marks the 4th Anniversary of the arrival of Prince, Princess, and Cassidy, exquisite Wolf Hybrids who had been physically and spiritually mistreated by a hoarder. Just four months old on arrival, Prince and Princess were suffering a life-threatening mange infestation, and Cassidy was a bit crazed by lockup in tight quarters for many days with numerous other dogs. Prince is gregarious, Princess is "royally" aloof, both have healed. Cassidy is physically healthy, but still fears confinement, so he has strict touch-limits. Rubbing his head and ears is OK (some days) but a big hug would probably kill him! We have made a covenant with these three to live out their lives here. Sponsor Prince, Princess, or Cassidy |
