Her Rescuer writes:

"This little sweet pea has been paralyzed in her back legs since November of 2008 (due to IVDD, intervertebral disk disease injury) and incontinent as a result. She is a very happy and energetic dog who seemingly has no idea that she is paralyzed. She runs with the assistance of a wheelchair made for her out of PVC piping and when not in the wheelchair will drag around at running speed if allowed. There are times when she will use her legs to both stand and even take a few steps. I am confident that under the care of a person with the time, willingness and resources (access to a water treadmill perhaps) she has the potential for rehabilitation. I adopted her in 2006 in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, and her estimated age is 8 years old. She is a very sweet, loving, and cuddly dog who has no problem getting along with other dogs. She is approximately 25 lbs and is spayed in the United States in December of 2006. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and other than her paralysis is a healthy dog."

Little Sweet Pea is in Portales, NM, waiting for help.  If you'd like to know more and/or meet her, please contact Bridging the Worlds and we'll connect you with her Rescuer.
